AS A HIRER YOU MUST NOT :-
•Move the skip from its delivery position
•Overload the skip (or additional charges may be made)
•Interfere with the mechanism of the equipment
•Leave hazardous material or chemicals in the skip
•Set fire to the waste in your skip
•Put any hazardous waste in the skip including but not limited to, fridges, freezers, tyres, paint, batteries, fluorescent tubes, televisions, PC monitors and asbestos
•Let waste exceed the height of the skip
You are legally responsible for the contents of the skip you hire and have a duty of care,
You must ensure that the waste disposed of in the hired skip is suitable for general disposal and that the skip is not overloaded.
If you are sharing a skip with another person you will also need to ensure that their waste is suitable as the hirer is responsible for the skip.
We do not take any waste deemed as being hazardous.
An overfilled skip is a hazard.
The skip lorry may struggle to lift the skip and cause damage to the ground under the jack legs. Overfilled skips are a danger to other people as waste can fall from the skip and cause fatal injuries as the skip is being transported.
The contents of a skip should not exceed the height of the skip’s walls. (wooden boards or panels up the sides are not acceptable)
If your skip is overloaded, the driver reserves the right to either remove the excess waste from the skip, or refuse to remove the skip altogether.
The latter will incur a minimum £40.00 wasted journey charge.
The vehicle that will deliver your skip will be an 18 ton lorry
